“Veronica” – Abstract Figurative Ballerina

Veronica is a ballerina designed by Antonio Proa. The ballerina’s movement is represented by the black and white lines flung across the canvas. As an abstract figurative art piece, the shapes and colors lead your eye from the crimson bodice to the and outwards.

Her bright crimson bodice provides a stark contrast to the black and white lines that make up her crown and tutu. Proa uses red to draw your eye in and the deliberate use of flung paint to capture the flow of the ballerina’s dance.

About Antonio Proa

For Antonio Proa, the creative process begins with spontaneously choosing a color palette for each work. Starting only with magenta yellow and blue. Free exercise provokes the reinvention of a new chromatic range each time he faces the canvas.

His training as a colorist at the French Academy of Makeup in the city of Tijuana, helped start this process that he later developed brilliantly.

Textures, perspectives, contrasts and the use of light come together with color to structure the message and ultimately give life to his personal and recognizable visual language.

Since his childhood he has worked in drawing and painting, a student of visual communication, he completed his degree in marketing, he also attended workshops and diplomas in photography and cinematography.

Currently he creates his work and teaches the Plastic Arts Workshop in the City of Tijuana. His work is collected nationally in different states of the Mexican Republic and internationally in different countries of the world, such as the United States, Spain, Italy and France.

Likewise, his work has been exhibited internationally in the city of San Diego, Los Angeles, Boston, Valencia, Vic and Paris, in the latter city he was permanently presented at the Mexican embassy, ​​with his work Zapata en Rojo.
